I discovered, with a bit of help from Églantine, that my digital camera can take double exposures. Here is one of my first attempts.
So, it could be a post with a beard and long hair or maybe a person whose face has been out in the rain and sun too long.
I set the camera for a macro shot.
Finally, I took another macro shot and then played again with Photoshop using a coloured pencil filter.
(I do have some more tourist shots of Malta but it was an art trip so you will have to put up with a few of my artistic attempts.)

I thoroughly enjoy the documentation of processes, so even though I look forward to more tourist photos, I appreciate this post. Love the colours on the macro shot. You did a great job with the coloured pencil filter to produce very nice abstract artwork. I love your final result.
I agree with Pam. That macro shot is just great. I also like the work with the coloured pencil. It is well done, and has a certain balance that I like. I'm glad you are having fun with Photoshop. It is an incredibly powerful program

RD, Thanks for all the positive comments. In addition to Photoshop I also now have Corel Painter. I'll put up some of those results later.
N, I did take some more double exposures and will put them on the blog later. In general, I think I like manipulating double exposures with Photoshop better as it is easier to get exactly what one wants but then the "accidents" of double exposure on the camera do add a bit of excitement.
I think I like that last one the best of all the artsy shots! :)
