Wild Flower Seeds

My search for blooming wild flowers is becoming more difficult as the frosts continue but I did find 79 species still in bloom during the last week of October. Look at my wild flower web site if you are interested in what I found.

Most wild flower species have already seeded themselves or are going to seed. Here is an example of one wild flower going to seed.

And another view...

And one more view of the whole seed head. It's Thimbleweed (Anemone virginiana).

This is how it looked last May.

Nice transition from flower to seed, and in spring we'll see it flower again. Beautiful.
