Fall Print - Sit Spot #1124 - February 25, 2022

When I went out this morning with the dog

I stepped onto fresh snow covering ice

and fell hard on my back and hit the back of my head

on the ice. Fortunately, due to the cold, 

I had on both a winter hat and my parka hood

that gave me a bit of protection from the blow.

Instead of doing my usual morning walk

I went back inside and sat in my Lazyboy Chair

for most of the morning.

In the late afternoon, I went out again

being super careful

and took a few of my regular photos

and did a standing “sit spot” on the east side

of the property where the ground was fairly level.

In spite of that, I still managed another fall

near the west pond when I took the dog out.

So missed most of my daily walks,

missed several of my daily photos,

and stood for 10 minutes instead of 

sitting in my usual sit spot.

During my 10 minute quiet stand -

(Traffic noises),

(Jet - WestJet flight 533),

Crows calling in distance,

Along the Trails -

Crows,

Blue Jays,

Chickadees,

White-breasted Nuthatch,

Fresh Coyote tracks,

Squirrel tracks,

Rabbit tracks,

Kitchen Window and Bird Feeder -

Blue Jays,

Cardinals,

Chickadees,

Purple Finches,

Juncos,

Red-breasted Nuthatch,

Red-bellied Woodpecker,

Red Squirrel.
