Green Dragon
arisème dragon
(Arisaema dracontium)
Thanks to Bill Lamond
for telling me about this plant.
He found it blooming 2 weeks ago
but I did not go the day he told me
and then I forgot. (How could I?)
I think I have seen this plant in bloom
one time and in seed one time; however,
my records only show the time in seed,
June 26th, 2002, near Binbrook, Ontario.
This one is just less than 1 km
from where I live.
It is listed as s3 or rare in our area.
Yes, it is going to seed now.

Too bad you missed it! I saw people posting about lady slippers, and remembered to go visit them!
