Tree Adventure

Nothing too unusual about an American Robin in a tree.

But what is Ontario Wanderer doing up in a tree?

Oh, babies and one egg . . .

Well done! I figured that if you were up in a tree, there had to be a bird or two up there somewhere. Scrawny little guys aren't they? Lovely photos though. . . .

Thanks Kerrdelune, It's probably about time I climb the tree again to check on progress. I don't want to bother them too much but I would like to see some of their development.

So helpless looking, and so out of place in our world. The baby birds were interest though.

Great picture story

The nest looks absolutely perfectly made, doesn't it! It's a work of art!

Beautiful! The egg is perfect and such a beautiful colour. I hope you can manage some photos of the nestlings' progress through their leafy bower. I know it's difficult to do without disturbing them.

Pam,
I am sorry to report that when we got back from our art trip in Manitoulin we found the Robin's nest on the ground empty and only a small wing not too far away. There were also lots of twigs and branches on the ground so I think there was a strong wind while we were away that dislodged the nest and the the cats took care of the rest.
