3 from Églantine
I seem to be running late this week. These three photos from Églantine are all from our Monday evening wild flower walk. First is one of the most common, showy wild flowers in bloom right now. It is Dames Rocket (Hesperis matronalis) or, as Églantine would say, "Julienne des dames."
Her next photo was of a grasshopper.

I love the Dames Rockets and the grasshopper, but that heron is amazing - I have a thing about herons.
I, too, love Dames Rocket and have them planted in my perennial bed near the bird feeder and small pond. The color is so beautiful. That's an exquisite photo, Eglantine, of the Dames Rocket ... you've captured the charm of a "swash/swoosh" of wildflower color. Cool pic of the grasshopper, too. It looks like it's wearing a jacket made of an assemblage of leaves.

Kerrdelune, I too love to see herons. It was neat that Églantine got this photo. It was through the car window as I remember.
