P, Yes, I took the photo. In the few seconds that it took to take two photos four more mosquitoes landed on that hand and a couple on the camera hand and three on my face. I can't believe what I do for photos sometimes.
A, That mosquito and all the others listed above were flat in another few seconds. Yes, there is West Nile in the area. I am hoping that I do not fall to it.
S4M, I am repelled by insect repellant more than by insects. I tend to go out morning and evening with long pants, long sleeved shirts, hat and even thought about gloves but have not done that yet. It makes the heat even more unbearable. (I was once on medication for two weeks for black fly bites after a canoe trip in Labrador.)

That specimen would be a lot "flatter" around here. No West Nile concerns in your area?
The 'skeeters' have been quite fierce around here of late. I do get so tired of smelling like insect repellant :)
