   while waiting for solar eclipse to start,

2:00 p.m. Started taking photos of bloodroot

   every 10 minutes to see effect, if any, of eclipse,

3:00 p.m. Not much happening in look of land,

3:10 p.m. Finally getting dim & cooler,

3:18 full eclipse darkness,

   Venus shining brightly below sun,

   Orange glow in west,

3:50 p.m. Back on trail walk,

   Robins,

   Blue Jay,

   Red-winged Blackbirds, 

   Flicker,

   Marigold pointed out a coyote

      across the south meadow,

   It lay still and just watched us,
