New Flower - Sit Spot #890 - July 5, 2021

According to two apps on my iPhone,
this is a flower species that I have never seen before.
Fleur-Ange found it yesterday in a nearby ditch.
I want to go tomorrow with my good camera
and a couple of wild flower field guides
to double check the ID.
Right now we are calling it
Marsh Hedge-nettle or
épiaire des marais
(Stachys palustris).

Common Yellowthroat,

Bluebirds,

Very quiet in the hot, humid morning

and I was hunting the LDD egg-laying moths

to drop them in soap-water with their eggs

and was a bit distracted from bird calls as I walked.

Spotted Knapweed,

Possibly Marsh Hedge Nettle
