OK, now I know, or think I know, what this bug is. It is the Western Conifer Seed Bug (Leptoglossus occidentalis) found from the west coast of N.A. all the way east to Maine and a few times each year in our house. Our last find was in March of 2010 and this one was found today, January 3, 2011. I do not see smaller ones and I don't know how they can exist so long without being seen. They apparently are plant eater but we have never found one on a plant. They just appear wandering about the walls or floor.
Sunrise
Using the iPhone to try to find exact sunrise time - clouds, barn, trees, and brush were in the way and the camera is recording Greenwich time.

Jan. 2 Flower
I am trying to get my blog going again via iPhone. We'll see how long the practice works. (2nd try already.)
Ran 15 km in light blowing snow this morning and then came home to find blooming pansies.
2011 Starts
Strange beginnings for 2011
Spring Peepers calling
Temperatures up to + 10
No Snow
And then
Temperatures drop
On the 2nd
Ran 15 km
In -15 C Wind Chills
Make up your mind
