Buttonbush

I thought I had missed the Buttonbush blooms this year as I thought it bloomed in the spring. Wrong. It blooms in August and I found it blooming at the arboretum in the Royal Botanical Gardens last Friday.

What's Your Angle?

I really like the various geometric shapes found in and on bridges and then there is the rope for swinging from the bank into the river under the bridge. Looks like fun.

I heard that kids used to, back in the days when safety was not pushed down our throats, used to play tag on top of the bridge beams. These days children don't even have climbers in the gyms. I wonder how safe fat is.

Sometimes water reflections are more interesting than other times. This is the reflection of the highway 11 Fauquier bridge crossing the Groundhog River in northern Ontario.

Bare Bear

Bare Bear
Originally uploaded by Ontario Wanderer

During our days in the Moonbeam/Fauquier/Smooth Rock Falls area I saw both bear tracks and one running bear. (It was going the other way.) I saw the bear tracks on one of my early morning walks before most others were awake. I was just as happy to NOT see the bear that morning.
