Two Birds

Inspired by I and the Bird, I checked out our bird feeder this morning during the snow.

Above is an American Goldfinch.

And, this time, there is a White-breasted Nuthatch with a sunflower seed in its beak. The out-of-focus bird that you can almost see is a Black-capped Chickadee.

OW-- These are beautiful. We haven't seen any Nuthatches here, but we have many Chestnut-backed Chickadees and American Goldfinches. The birds now provide most of the color in our yard. The bright red head on the Downy Woodpecker, the soft gold on the Goldfinch, pale red on the House Finch are as beautiful as the color of the fall leaves.
Thanks for posting these.

Splendid pictures, OW. I often see nuthatches when Charlie and I are on our walkabouts but they always seem to appear when my camera is at the bottom of my rucksack. Do you get treecreepers in Ontario, as well?
