Three Photos from the Morning Dog Walk

The best photo was the one I missed as I was too slow to get my camera out of the bag. At the edge of our east meadow pond, we flushed out a female Mallard and at least a dozen ducklings. They were across the pond and hidden in the weeds before the camera was out. Sigh.

Meanwhile, just a few metres further on there was some Timothy Grass in bloom.

And in the barn were several moths. This first one is called a "Beautiful Wood-Nymph," in spite of looking, from a distance, like a bird dropping.

I do not know what kind of moth this last one is. Does anyone have any ideas re ID?

View from the Hamilton Waterfront Trail

There were a lot of wild flowers down beside the Hamilton Waterfront Trail today but it was these new cygnets that stole the show.

I think about this blog every day but seldom get around to actually doing anything about the thinking.

Following are a few photos that I have put up on Facebook in the past week or so.
