Ontario Dandelion Visitor

Here is a close up of one of our dandelions.

There are three species of dandelion in our area and I am not sure which one this is as I forgot to check. Meanwhile, we had these little bee like creatures visiting about one of every ten dandelions as we walked along the trails today.

Below are two more views of the same kind of insect on another dandelion.

Is there enough information for anyone to make an ID?

There are now 40 wild flowers that are in bloom listed on my wild flower web site and some other wild flower photos too if your are interested.

Lovely close-ups. That last bee shot is really beautiful. Sorry I can't help with the ID.

Amazing closeups! The dandelion structure is fascinating. Love the head-on photo of the little bee thing (no ID from me - sorry). What camera/lens are you using? I enjoy yours and eglantine's album sets on flickr.

WOW! I have been out taking dandelion photos - thinking no one else would pay much attention to "a Weed"... Spectacular photos!

You asked about cooking poke sallet in my blog. You only pick the tender shoots and leaves and you wash it and then you boil it for oh,...about 15-20 minutes. Then you pour that water off and I rinse it in cool water and pour that off. Then fill the pot with cold water again and let it cook until tender. I added some country pork ribs to mine and some salt. It was great!!

RD, I am glad you like the photos.

P in T, We now have two cameras. They are both jointly owned but most of the time Églantine used the Fujifilm FinePix s7000 and I use the Fujifilm FinePix s9000, but sometimes we switch.

E, "Weeds" are only weeds if you don't like them.

R, Thanks for the information! It sounds like a lot of work. I like things I can pick off a tree or vine and eat.

Your photos do nature justice. Very hard to do.

S, Thank you! I was interested in your break down of RV costs on your blog. I like to travel but think I enjoy being on a small piece of land and looking at small changes just as much.
